Several Team Vance members participated in the 10th annual Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon Sunday, April 25. More than 10,000 runners took part in the event which started and finished in the Bricktown district of downtown Oklahoma City. Individual racers competed in full and half marathon distances and relay teams of five ran the marathon distance with teammates taking five, 10 or 12 kilometer legs. There was also a non-competitive five kilometer Memorial Walk for families and a 1.2 mile Kid's Marathon for competitors 11 years old and younger.

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon was founded in 2000 by Thomas Hill and Chet Collier. The two were training for their first marathon when they decided not only to start a marathon for Oklahoma runners but to run the race in support of the Oklahoma City National Memorial dedicated to the victims of the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.
