Volunteers will be recognized during ice cream social, April 22 Published April 7, 2010 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Volunteers at Vance AFB will be recognized during the Airman & Family Readiness Center's annual Volunteer Appreciation ice cream social from 5:30 to 7 p.m., April 22, at Eisenhower Elementary School on base. The event is held every April during Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 18-24. The Volunteer Excellence Award for 2009 will be presented during the social. "This year we are also going to present a longevity award to our volunteer who has been giving their time the longest," said Tech Sgt. Bobbie White at the A&FRC. All civilian volunteers, including civil service, family members, retirees and contractors, are eligible for recognition. This year's nominees are: Terry Crawford, Kimberly Patton, Sheryl Lawrence, Debra Poland, Laura Stewart, Chaudra White, Jillian McIntyre, Christina McMillian, Vanessa Smith and Rebecca Terry. "Come out and help us recognize our volunteers for the extraordinary things they do to improve our base and community," said Sergeant White.
