Command post senior NCO selected best in AETC Published April 6, 2010 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Master Sgt. Robert English was named Air Education and Training Command's Command Post Unit-Level Senior NCO of the year, for the second year in a row. Sergeant English is the superintendent of command and control in the 71st Flying Training Wing command post at Vance. He leads a team of 12 people, which includes five folks awaiting pilot training. "We are the eyes and ears of the commander, 24 hours a day, seven days a week," Sergeant English said. He sees the award as validation of the efforts of both himself, and more importantly, the team. "I certainly couldn't have earned it without everyone's hard work," he said. Sergeant English will now compete at the Air Force level. He has been in the Air Force for more than 23 years and was recently selected for senior master sergeant.
