Wash-rack team keeps historical aircraft clean

It looked like spring cleaning time at the Douglas A-26 static display aircraft March 29 at Vance AFB. A team from the CSC Applied Technologies aircraft maintenance wash rack gave the World War II attack-bomber its six-month bath.

Working the hose, brushes and detail rags on the A-26 wash down were Spencer Cahoon, Randi Malaska and Arlene Kiedis.

The wash-rack crew takes care of nine static-display aircraft on base.

The rest of the time the wash rack keeps up with the 180-day wash, inspection and lubrication of all the T-1A Jayhawks, T-6A Texan IIs and T-38 Talons that fly at Vance. They turn out an average of three aircraft a day.
