Warriors of the Week -- Exercise Evaluation Team Published Feb. 24, 2010 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Members of the Exercise Evaluation Team were selected Warriors of the Week at Vance for their planning and execution of training exercises during a recent two-week period. Sandi Ott, from Peabody, Mass., is a self-proclaimed "data geek" with the 71st Force Support Squadron's Personnel Systems Management. Master Sgt. James Smith, from Walhalla, S.C., works in Clinical Medicine with the 71th Medical Operations Squadron. Clay Gillock, from Ponca City, Okla., is part of Fire Protection with CSC Applied Technologies. David Harris, from Waukomis, Okla., works in the 71st Security Forces Squadron Unit Training. All four were part of the EET that planned and executed an "active shooter" exercise scenario at the 71st Medical Group in a two-week exercise period. For added training, they included a hostage scenario with the shooter event. The various parts of the exercise weeks they organized took care of 20 percent of the annual requirements, including a full escalation of the force protection conditions at Vance. To ensure realism in training, they incorporated smoke grenades and ground burst simulators to better prepare Team Vance for real-world possibilities.
