Annual award winners named at banquet, Feb. 5 Published Feb. 10, 2010 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- More than 150 attended Vance's annual awards banquet Friday, Feb. 5, at the Vance Collocated Club. Forty-one outstanding Team Vance members competed in 12 categories for the awards. Senior Airman Sylvia Lake, 71st Medical Group, was selected the Airman of the Year. Also competing were Senior Airman Timothy Linden, 71st Operations Group; Senior Airman Jason Rangel, 71st Mission Support Group; and Staff Sgt. Jessica Wilson, 71st Flying Training Wing Staff Agency. Tech. Sgt. Jonathan Clegg, 71st OG, was selected the NCO of the Year. Also competing in the category were: Tech. Sgt. Richard White, 71st MSG; Staff Sgt. Adam Lohn, 71st MDG; and Tech. Sgt. Laura Rosenzweig, WSA. Master Sgt. Steven Reddecliff, 71st MSG, was selected the Senior NCO of the Year. Also competing were: Master Sgt. James Mull, 71st OG; Master Sgt. Steven Wilkins, 71st MDG; and Master Sgt. Robert English, WSA. First Lt. Agneta Murnan, WSA, was selected the Company Grade Office of the Year. Also competing were Capt. Nathan Perry, 71st OG; Capt. Brandon Shade, 71st MSG; and Capt. Jamie Kaauamo, 71st MDG. Melva Glaser, 71st OG, was selected the Civilian Category I of the Year. Also competing were Jimmy Nevius, 71st MSG; Oscar Jacobs, 71st MDG; and Jean Null, WSA. Sharron Schaefer, 71st MDG, was selected the Civilian Category II of the Year. Also competing were Robert Ochs, 71st OG; David Harris, 71st MSG; and Holly Eckstein, WSA. Senior Airman Joshua Lewis, 71st MDG, was selected the Honor Guard Member of the Year. Also competing were Senior Airman Seth Lake, 71st MSG; and Senior Airman David Grubs, 71st MSG. Tech. Sgt. Richard White, 71st MSG, was selected the Honor Guard Program Manager of the Year. Senior Master Sgt. Mark Holling, 71st MSG, was selected the First Sergeant of the Year. Also competing was Master Sgt. Raul Flores, 71st OG. Capt. Rodney Dwyer, 8th Flying Training Squadron, was selected the Instructor Pilot of the Year. Also competing were Maj. Brent Drown, 3rd Fighter Training Squadron; Capt. Thomas Kanewske, 25th Flying Training Squadron; 1st Lt. Mark Thompson, 32nd Flying Training Squadron; and Capt. Christopher York, 33rd Flying Training Squadron. Cecil Zimmerman, WSA, was selected Quality Assurance Evaluator of the Year. Also competing was Jeff Patton, 71st MSG. Capt. Matthew Gjertsen, 71st OG, was selected the Volunteer of the Year. Also competing were Tech. Sgt. Bobbie White, 71st MSG; Tech. Sgt. Leonard White, 71st MDG; and Airman 1st Class Benjamin Ekblad, WSA. Originally scheduled Jan. 29, the banquet was moved to Feb. 5 due to a winter storm that passed through the Enid area leaving several inches of snow in its wake.
