When the switch is flipped during the Base Tree lighting ceremony next week, 725 lights will glow, marking the beginning of the holiday season.

Members of CSC Applied Technology's civil engineering grounds shop placed 30 strings of lights and lots of garland on the tree near the T-38 static display across from Eisenhower Elementary school on base.

The lighting ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., Dec. 1. The 71st Flying Training Wing commander, Col. Chris Nowland, will light the tree. After holiday songs are sung, the ceremony will continue with free hot chocolate and cookies at the Vance Collocated Club.

The Club is featuring a tree lighting Italian Special buffet for $5 per members and $9.95 for non-members. Non-members who attend the tree lighting ceremony will receive a $1-off coupon for the buffet.
