Our latest development entered Vance into the world of social media by creating a Facebook page. Over eighty-four million Americans use Facebook and almost three hundred million people use Facebook worldwide. Many businesses and colleges use Facebook to get more information to prospective employees and applicants. Vance's business page allows other Facebook users to become "fans" of Vance Air Force Base. Everyone, including military members and civilians may become fans and are encouraged to do so. Fans of Vance will gain access to weekly updates of photos, news articles and links. Fans will also be kept more in the loop on events like Vance's recent POW and MIA ceremony and the upcoming Fall Fest on Oct. 8. Not only will fans be able to receive information and give feedback to Vance, but Vance's Facebook page will be a place where members can share information with each other as well. Facebook users looking for Vance's page can search for Vance Air Force Base, spelled out completely with no abbreviations.
