Airman convicted in special court-martial

A Vance AFB Airman from the 71st Security Forces Squadron was convicted in a special court-martial on Aug. 6 for violating Article 86, Uniform Code of Military Justice, Absence without Leave for less than 30 days; Article 92, UCMJ, Dereliction of Duty, for using her Government Travel Card for other than official travel related expenses; Article 112a, UCMJ, Wrongful Use of Marijuana; and Article 134, UCMJ, Dishonorably Failing to Pay Debt, for failing to pay her Bank of America and Citibank Government Travel Card balances. The accused pled guilty to the charges and specifications. The military judge sentenced her to a bad-conduct discharge, four months confinement, forfeiture of $933 pay per month for four months, reduction from Airman to Airman Basic and a reprimand.
