Warehousers win Extramural Invitational bowling tournament Published April 27, 2009 By 71st Force Support Squadron Services VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Warehousers, the Vance Extramural Bowling League's season champions, took first place in the Extramural Invitational bowling tournament April 15, by defeating 71st Medical Group B team. The Warehousers, a combination team from the 71st MDG, PR/LGSC, Mid-America and the oil fields. Coming from the second-chance side of the tournament bracket, the Warehousers had to defeat the 71st MDG B team twice to win the tournament. In their first matchup, the two teams went all the way to the tenth frame, with the Warehousers edging them out and gaining the win, earning the chance to bowl against them one more time. In the final paring, the game carried on all the way down to the last bowler in the tenth frame and the last ball thrown. At the end of the tenth frame, it was the Warehousers edging out the Medical Group B team by only one point. Taking third place in the tournament was the 33rd Flying Training Squadron B team. The Warehousers will keep the traveling trophy until next March. The first place Warehousers team included: John Butcher, Charlotte Smith, Roy Smith, Dianne Stroble and Gary Stroble. The second place 71st MDG B team included: Jill Campbell, Rob Campbell, Jeff Griner, Todd Nahnsen, Rhonda Patton, Sharron Schaefer, Doc Tobin and Christina Valentin. The third place 33rd Flying Training Squadron B team included: Beau Block, Dan Healey, Shane Sirianni, Ryan Smith, Chris Uecker and Matt Wood.
