The 2009 Air Force Assistance Fund campaign ended April 17 with a total of $50,847.50 in donations, a 24 percent increase over last year's total of $41,028.

"We achieved 100 percent contact, in which everyone was given the opportunity to participate," said Capt. Kris Ostrowski, AFAF Wing project officer.

The Air Force Aid Society offered a prize to bases with over 50 percent participation. With 692 donors, Vance AFB exceeded that goal with 51 percent base participation and is receiving a cash donation from the AFAS.

According to Tech. Sgt. Bobbie White, Airman & Family Readiness Center, "This cash donation goes to the Friends of Vance Families and will be used for recognition events like Month of the Military Child and Retiree Appreciation Day."

The AFAF consists of four charitable affiliates: the Air Force Aid Society, the Air Force Village Foundation, the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation and the Air Force Enlisted Village.
