Renovation has begun at the Vance Clinic, with construction taking place in phases. "Phased planning for the renovation was done in such a way in order to keep patient impact at a minimum" said Shane Campbell, facility manager.

The two changes patients will see first are improved lighting and new wall surfacing. They will also see several sections of the clinic moved within the building. The pediatrics section will move toward the front of the clinic, creating easier access for Vance's youngest patients and their parents.

Restrooms will receive new tiles and become compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. A new air conditioning system will keep the temperature in the clinic consistent.

New rubberized flooring will provide comfort for patients and clinic staff, who spend much of the day on their feet. The rubberized flooring is both more comfortable and significantly cleaner than carpet.

The clinic renovations will encourage a positive outlook in patients from the moment they walk through the front door. Medical Logistics Flight Commander, Captain David Huinker, stated "everything we do is geared toward the benefit of the patient."
