A victory luncheon Wednesday officially completed the 2004 Vance Air Force Base Combined Federal Campaign.
Team Vance raised $60,175 for the campaign's charities, up from $57,464 in 2003.
Allan McCobb, downtown United Way president, presented Col Mike Callan, 71st Flying Training Wing commander, with a trophy in appreciation for the wing's donation.
"It's outstanding that the key workers were able to contact all their people and collect this much money," said 1st Lt Chris McAlear, 71st Operations Group CFC point of contact. "The footwork done to help these worthwhile causes was awesome."
"This was the second or third highest amount I've seen raised in the 15 years I've been here," Mr. McCobb said. "The number of people donating increased, which was wonderful. I think it's healthy in society that when there's more people in the community (than a previous year), there are more people giving back."
The luncheon included Colonel Callan, Mr. McCobb, Lieutenant McAlear, Lt Col Craig Christenson, 71st Medical Operations Squadron commander; Lt Col Robert Mitchell, 71st Mission Support Group deputy commander; Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant Jeff Kallas, Chaplain (Maj) Nelson Toledo, 71st FTW head chaplain; and the squadron campaign key workers.
"Thanks to everyone who donated," Lieutenant McAlear said. "And especially thanks to the key workers for their time and for the great job."
