Team Vance Chiefs show appreciation Published Jan. 19, 2007 By Frank McIntyre Public Affairs Vance Air Force Base, Okla. -- The Vance Air Force Base Chiefs Group launched its Outstanding Performance Award program with the presentation of the first two coins last week. Ron Diener and Rich Jondrow were presented coins number one and two for their work with the annual Enlisted Appreciation event. "They have been our focal points in arranging this event for several years and the Chiefs really wanted to show them our appreciation by having them as the first recipients of the awards," said Command Chief Master Sergeant Jeff Kallas. "It was a real honor to be the first selected for this award," said Mr. Diener. "I'll cherish this award, it means a great deal to me." "The Chiefs Group Outstanding Performance Award is our way of formally recognizing outstanding duty performance, exceptional professionalism, customer service above and beyond or other accomplishments deemed worthy," Chief Kallas said. Each chief may nominate an individual for the award and the group with discuss the nomination, vote and select a winner from the nominations. The recipients will receive the Chief's Outstanding Perfomance coin, along with a congratulatory letter. A list of all receipents of the award will be displayed in the enlisted lounge of the Vance Club.
