71st CPTS experiences first leadership change Published Dec. 1, 2006 By Public Affairs Public Affairs Vance Air Force Base, Okla. -- Leadership of the 71st Comptroller Squadron changed hands Thursday for the first time since the squadron changed from a comptroller flight. Maj. Dennis Hunt accepted command of the squadron from Maj. Mike Wilson in a change of command ceremony at the Vance Club. "I look forward to forging solid relationships with the entire staff of this stellar wing," Major Hunt said. "As we move forward, the 71st Comptroller Squadron will continue to serve you and will always strive to provide world-class financial support. "Many challenges are in our future. This is a very dynamic time for the Air Force and the comptroller career field. A strong partnership throughout the chain of command is needed now more than ever. I am ready for the challenge, humbled and honored to join Team Vance, and I look forward to working with each of you in the days to come." Major Hunt was previously the 435th Comptroller Squadron deputy commander at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Major Hunt entered the Air Force in 1995 after receiving his commission through Officer Training School. Since his commissioning, Major Hunt has been assigned to the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont., the 21st Space Wing at Peterson AFB, Colo., and Headquarters Air Education and Training Command at Randolph AFB, Texas. He then interned at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., before his assignment to the 435th Air Base Wing at Ramstein. Major Wilson now travels to the Pentagon where he will work on an antiterrorism joint staff. Major Wilson thanked commanders, contractors, Team Vance, the Enid community, and his family for their support during his time as commander.
