Class 25-12 receive their wings during graduation ceremony held July 11 at Vance

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Twenty-two students in Undergraduate Pilot Training Class 25-12 received their wings during a ceremony held July 11 at Vance Air Force Base.

The newly pinned pilots completed their initial aviation training at Vance and will continue in either the T-38 Talon here or in their assigned aircraft at their next base.

The graduation speaker at the Class 25-12 ceremony was Air Force Col. Carl Miller, the 71st Flying Training Wing deputy commander. Miller is a command pilot with more than 4,000 flight hours in the AC-208, RC-208, C-208, T-6A, C-17A, T-1A and T-34C.

Miller earned his wings at Vance Air Force Base in 2002.

Class 25-12 award winners were:
2nd Lt. Ashlyn Oelrich received the Academic Award;
Capt. Anthony Tetter received the Leadership Award;
2nd Lt. Johnathen Zimmer received the Flying Training Award, the Air Education & Training Command Commander’s Trophy and was named a Distinguished Graduate;
2nd Lt. Austin Zalar was named a Distinguished Graduate;
2nd Lt. Ryan Wilkinson received the Wingman Award.
