VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Flu shots and Flumist are now available to all active duty, Guard and Reserve military members, dependents, retirees, and government civilians at the 71st Medical Group immunizations office.

The current wing influenza immunization rate is 70 percent. The immunizations office would like to see 100 percent of Team Vance immunized by the end of October.

Immunizations personnel are awaiting a new shipment of Flumist. However, the technicians do have enough of the injectable vaccine to meet the needs of all beneficiaries.

All vaccines are given on a walk-in only basis, but beneficiaries may experience up to a 15-minute wait if several people show up at once for their vaccine.

Immunizations is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is closed for lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. The Entire MDG is closed for training on the second and fourth Thursday's each month at 2 p.m.
