The Airman's Attic opened its doors Jan. 22 to show off newly designed layout and customer service features.

"We changed the layout to make better use of the space and look more inviting," said Stephanie Harbuck, the Airman's Attic liaison. "This is an amazing program. Our goal is to revitalize it and spur others to consider what the Airman's Attic has to offer."

Stephanie is married to Master Sgt. Toby Harbuck with the 71st Flying Training Wing.

The Airman's Attic is a volunteer-run store located on the south corner of the Exchange. It offers free clothes, uniforms and household items to Airmen, E-5 and below. Officers have access to the uniform section.

Many of the old style clothing racks are gone and clothes now line the walls.

The store now offers "all-ranks days," limits on some items, a "Cinderella's Closet" and new hours of operations.

Cinderella's Closet is a section of the store that loans formal dresses - for free.

"Most of these dresses are new," said Chelsey Gillespie, the Airman's Attic shopkeeper, holding up a dress with a $300 price tag still attached. "The only thing we require is for them to be cleaned before they are returned."

Chelsey is married to Senior Airman Evan Gillespie with the 71st Communications Squadron.

The all ranks days will give access to the Attic to everyone, to help clear out inventory when the store becomes too full.

The first all ranks days will be Jan. 28-30.

"The best way to keep track of Airman's Attic events like all ranks days is to "like" our Facebook page," said Chelsey.

Customers are now limited to 10 items per day. "But if someone is in need then we will remove those limits," said Chelsey.

The new hours are operations are: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., and the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
