The 71st Medical Group served 173 diners a Thanksgiving dinner during the Singles' International Gourmet Meal Opportunity Nov. 25 at the Community Chapel Activity Center on base.

Twenty-five volunteers with the 71st MDG served eight turkeys, four hams, mashed potatoes, shrimp, green beans, corn and an assortment of desserts.

The volunteers, led by Sharron Schaefer, the 71st MDG Tricare Operations and Patient Administration Flight chief, spent three days preparing the meal.

SIGMO is hosted by the Vance Chapel and operated by unit volunteers the last Monday of each month from 4:45 until 7 p.m. Single and unaccompanied Air Force members and the families of Airmen who are deployed or TDY are welcome.

Attendees enjoyed Thanksgiving-themed decorations and dinnerware while they ate.
