Reduced budgets, new base operating services contract limit what civil engineering can provide customers

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- With reduced civil engineering budgets, limited manpower, and a new base operating services contract, the days of abundant work orders, short grass and multi-million dollar projects has ended, said Stephen Weber with the 71st Installation Support Squadron.

These changes and reduction decisions were not made locally but at the Air Force level. With the new BOS contract now in effect, Vance is required to implement the changes, said Weber.

The changes will affect how often the grass is mowed, trash cans emptied and if and when routine work orders are accomplished.
