We're heading down the home stretch of the Air Education and Training Command's Operational Readiness Inspection of Vance Air Force Base.
I am very proud of Team Vance and the efforts you demonstrated while being interviewed, probed, questioned and studied by the command's toughest inspectors. We've faced a number of challenging scenarios, and I am extremely proud of how Team Vance has responded. I'm confident that each and everyone of you have displayed both a degree of competence and sense of urgency that has shown our guests our collective commitment to excellence.
Please join me 11 a.m. Tuesday, either in person at the base auditorium or watching on the Commander's Access Channel, for the official inspection results at the inspector general's outbrief. Once again, I'm proud of your months of preparation, your efforts this week and the heart you have displayed. You are "Outstanding" on my scorecard!
You'll also want to mark your calendar for 3 p.m. Aug. 26 for the post-ORI party at the base park. We'll have free food and drinks, but most importantly, an opportunity to celebrate with the world's finest flying training wing, the 71st Flying Training Wing. And bring your families.
We're also on the home stretch for the 101 Critical Days of Summer and while we've had our share of bumps and bruises, we haven't lost anyone. Keep it up. Safety awareness becomes even more important as some of our most valuable resources -- our children -- head back to school this week. Use extra caution around school zones and buses, crosswalks and bus stops.
As always, keep the deployed members of Team Vance in your thoughts as more warriors will be leaving this week. We wish them all a safe and speedy return.
Enjoy your weekend safely, but don't let your guard down. Take the opportunity to catch your breath, while remembering to watch your wingman.
