James L. Bottomlee
James L. Bottomlee, grandfather of Lt. Col. James D. Bottomlee, 3rd Fighter Training Squadron commander at Vance AFB, served in the U.S. Army Air Forces throughout World War II loading bombs on the B-26 Marauder. When Colonel Bottomlee entered the Air Force, his grandfather told him, “Remember son, take care of your Airmen and they will take care of the mission.” (Courtesy photo)
