Oklahoma Rising
Ken Girty,T-6 scheduled maintenance senior mechanic, Computer Services Corporation, at Vance Air Force Base, plays “Oklahoma Rising”, the new state centennial celebration song written by Vince Gill and Jimmy Webb, at the Agriculture and Tourism Convention in Oklahoma City April 18. In addition to working at Vance for 11 years, he also serves as Senior Master Sgt. Girty, first sergeant for the 18th Air Refueling Squadron at McConnell AFB, Kan. The convention where he appeared as guest artist was slated by state legislators to bring the two areas of the state’s commerce together in a program targeted at increasing areas of tourism.
