Children experience Cheyenne culture
Woodson Whitebird, an elder of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes, performed as a guest speaker at the Vance Air Force Base Youth Center on March 7 for the School Age Program. Mr. Whitebird passed on historical and cultural information to the children by giving them a background on some of the handcrafted tools and clothing he brought. The children were able to see handcrafted tools such as arrows and a shield, as well as significant clothing pieces such as a feather headdress and furs of a coyote and a badger.(U.S. Air Force photo/Jennifer Carroll)
